I hope everyone is doing well during this time. Good opportunity to have some quality family dinner time
Keep safe everyone
I sat at the kitchen island and talked to the kids about the current state of the world. We talked about how they are experiencing something we never had to live through growing up and one day they will talk to their kids about it and reflect. Over the last month we have had family dinners, game and movie nights and online celebrations with family and friends. We miss our families and friends, but we have had the opportunity to Catch our Breath in this hectic world!!!!
When this is all over, physical contact must resume. Its hard not to walk up to a friend and shake their hand. Or offer a hug. Masks are becoming more ubiquitous. Seeing someone’s face is a necessity!
Stay safe, everyone.
As panic started creeping in, how was it that stillness was bringing along something so precious. Every night, as we gather for our family dinner, I look at their faces, hear their words and we share. Then I keep hearing those words that I kept ignoring, “the new normal”. Maybe they are right. When this is over, maybe what was and may have been sometime taken for granted will be different. With that thought comes a touch of grief. So for now, I stay in the moment. I reach out, when I need a friend. I am there, when someone needs me. I will embrace making this time special in some way, just as it is. I will jot down my feelings and thoughts. One day, we will look back and see how far we’ve come. Until then, we really are in this together. Keep well.
Take time to stop and smell the roses… and enjoy family time. There were a lot of bugs, but we had a nice walk along the waterfront and took in some of that wonderful fresh air!! No place to rush off to… I wonder what these 3 were thinking about? I was thinking that life is precious, and we are so blessed to have what we have…
If there is one thing that has helped me get through this, it is my friends. “Social distancing” does not have to mean “social isolation”, as they say. Nothing like virtual beers with the boys on Saturday night! But this time has given me the opportunity to spend real quality time with the family as well. Not having to rush between work and home (and the rink!) has given us more time to spend quality time together… family bike rides, puzzle building, and yes, the occasional family movie night too!
Seems this slow down has enabled me to be more active and creative. I’m trying to do daily activities to broaden my knowledge…learn something new each day. Mostly we are watching the 8 baby kit foxes and moma in our neighbours backyard. Man are they cute!
